We are inviting singers and instrumentalists to take part in our project to mark the easing of ‘lockdown’ – a video of the final chorus of Leonard Bernstein’s operetta Candide ‘Make Our Garden Grow’. Based on Voltaire’s eighteenth-century philosophical short story of the same name, this is a song not just about gardening but about community building, about ‘give and take’ with each person contributing what they can to build a sense of place that sustains all who live there.
