UK Partners

St. Matthew’s Primary School, Norfolk Street, Cambridge has long been an important CMT partner. It is here that we rehearse and here where many of our most exciting and innovative projects have taken place. The Junior Orchestra started here, we have led full school singing assemblies, run projects (The Place Where we Stand, SingFest etc) and played for the inauguration concert that celebrated the opening of the new playground.
Our partnership with Cambridge United and the City Council led to one our most ambitious projects – a half-time WWI musical commemoration of the Christmas Truce – when the CMT orchestra and singers, led by international conductor Robert Ziegler, led communal singing in front of each of the ground’s four grandstands whist pupils from the Parkside Federation re-enacted the Christmas Truce on the pitch. Many of our projects have been run with EPOC including SingFest, Carmen, and the many trips to Mostar in Bosnia & Herzegovina.

The St. Paul’s Centre, Hills Road, Cambridge has been a long-term partner of CMT – as a rehearsal and concert venue and as a co-host of the many Scratch Messiahs that we have run.

CMT has regularly provided music for the Cambridge Szeged Society who foster links between the the English and Hungarian university cities. CMT’s Community Orchestra has been seen at several Russian Christmas celebrations led by the Cambridge University Russian Society and has played host to several young Turkish musicians.
